Energy-saving projects at the IBM headquarters in Helsinki were started at the beginning of 2016. This project was carried out in cooperation with CBRE. Indoors the project began in the lobby, which had both old incandescent bulbs and many old inductive bulbs that consumed a lot of electricity. The inductive bulbs were replaced with Airam Lotus LED 40W lampuilla. Energy-saving bulbs in corridors and low-ceilinged rooms were replaced with bulbs of different power ratings from the Airam Pro LED range.
In the courtyard area, in the first stage all mercury vapour bulbs in lampposts and on the walls of the building were changed to energy-efficient Airam Lotus LED 40W bulbs. The lights in the main entrance and in the goods receptions area were changed for Airam frost led lamps.
Bulbs for use in subzero temperatures were improved to be able to operate in Finnish conditions down to -40°C. They are very suitable for outdoor use and for illuminating cold spaces.
In the service area, 2 × 80 W mercury vapour bulbs were replaced with one Airam Lotus LED 50W bulb. More light was also wanted in the outdoor car park so lampposts Airam Puistoprismawere erected around the area. Park Prisma has a clear diffuser that is prismatic on the inside, so the light from the luminaire is very powerful and the light distribution is even.
The 125W mercury vapour bulbs in the car park were replaced with Airam Lotus LED 40W bulbs. The same was done for the lights on the driving ramp.
The ramps in the indoor parking hall were fitted with Airam Futura -luminaires, because the old luminaires had come to the end of their life. Futura LED luminaires work best in cold spaces, as they come on immediately at full power, regardless of the temperature.
