The K2-140 luminaire has a clear glass lampshade around the classic Tapio Wirkkala WIR bulb. The WIR bulb’s shape and light glow beautifully through the lampshade. The slender K2-140 pendant is beautiful on its own, but several can also be to used to create a spectacular lighting group. The elegant luminaire consists of a dimmable WIR-105 LED bulb and a metal sleeve made of brushed stainless steel for ceiling mount, plus a lamp plug, ceiling cup and a transparent 3.1-metre lead. Tapio Wirkkala received an award for the WIR bulb at the Milan Triennial XII in 1960. After that he created an entire luminaire family around it, of which the K2-140 pendant is one member.
