Tapio Wirkkala’s WIR light bulb designed for Airam in 1959 reformed lamp design. The sleek opal-glass light bulb combined with a plain lamp cord was awarded the following year at La XII Triennale di Milano. The clear glass shade combined with the bulb holder's brushed steel and the clear cord creates a fresh and clean light fixture in a completely new way. The cut of the glass cover subtly emphasizes the fashion language of the WIR light bulb.
